Updates since launch (June 4, 2008)

  • June 6, 2008: CIRC is now also a working group of the International Radiation Commission (IRC)
  • June 9, 2008: This page has been created; links to this page are now provided from the menus, under "Updates"
  • June 9, 2008: It has been clarified in the "Input" page that the surface albedo is lambertian
  • June 12, 2008: Clarified submission of SW heating rates in "Submit" page
  • September 12, 2008: Clarified meaning of height at atmospheric levels (height above sea level, NOT height above ground)
  • November 27, 2008: Revised Case 1 LW calculations to make consistent with input distributed and input used for SW-CHARTS calculations
  • May 18, 2009: Created a CIRC Publications page and added the relevant menu item in the navigation bars
  • August 20, 2009: Modified the SW CHARTS output files to also include the upwelling flux at the surface. Also changed the sample Fortran code that reads LBLRTM and CHARTS output to reflect this change
  • March 3, 2010: Updated the Cases webpage with description and results about the new subcases with simplified atmospheric and surface conditions
  • April 6, 2010: Made the spectral CHARTS files for the SW subcases available in the Cases webpage
  • April 21, 2010: Provided link to the CIRC paper published in BAMS in the Publications webpage
  • April 23, 2010: Made the reference LBLRTM results for the LW subcases available in the Cases webpage
  • September 15, 2012: CIRC is now also a project of GEWEX's GASS panel
  • January 24, 2013: Provided link to the CIRC paper published in JGR in the Publications webpage
  • September 1, 2015: Added information in the main page about the Pincus-led 4xCO2 effort.  Provided link to the relevant paper in the Publications webpage
